Course structure

  1. Phase 1 (Prerequisite Knowledge)
    Students must complete the prerequisite courses in Advanced Pathophysiology, Advanced Pharmacology, Advanced Physical Assessment, and Nursing Research and Evidence at Tzu Chi University’s Master's program. The total credits for the prerequisite courses are 12 credits, with 126 hours of instruction.
  2. Phase 2 (Blended Learning)
    The advanced wound management curriculum primarily consists of face-to-face courses, supplemented by synchronous online courses, totaling 100 hours, with 40 hours dedicated to in-person instruction. These courses are conducted weekly for 2-3 hours and include theoretical lessons on various types of wounds, clinical case analysis, hands-on practice with wound care techniques, and completion of exams, with a passing grade of 70%. Additionally, students must complete 30 hours of clinical internship.
  3. Phase 3 (Clinical Case Analysis Report)
    Students select a clinical case for independent study over a 2-month period (at least 30 hours) to complete a patient-centered wound case report.
